(yeah, i know..it wasn't in a world cup I still think we have a far stronger team than you now.... lets hope we meet in this World Cup. I can see us giving you a good spanking this time)
nKPro comp? I know nothing about it ...well done on the PB's though Why you would think that you getting slaughtered in it would cheer me up though i have no idea.
Fair enough on the "you have said some positive things about iRacing" though .. All i noticed (here and in other forums..I've just been reading a thread at RD ) is you moaning about the price...constantly. The positive stuff must have got lost in the tide of negativity about money. Let it go
It's not even that expensive any more, and if you plan your purchases well you hardly notice it. Subscription prices are far better than when i first tried it a year ago, and whilst paying for your first full season can be a bit pricey, after that it's a pretty cheap hobby.
I can totally understand if you think it's not value for money for you, but stop banging on about it.
It's a friendly..no one ever plays that well in meaningless friendlies. Only three weeks until the world cup, so no one bothers closing down and tackling hard as they want to avoid any risk of injury.
Our defence looked poor, but we'll have Terry and Ashley Cole back for the real thing... Baines was so out of his depth..than god he's only our backup. We should definitely be stronger there for the real thing.
Lampard will be back, so that should boost the midfield. Hopefully Carrick wont even make the final squad as he is indeed absolutely shite.
Play Lennon from the start instead of "all pace but no clue what to do with the ball" Walcott.
Job done... We'll go out in the semi's then
Nice generalisation on the "football fans are all pricks" though fella.
I think you mean "the stereotypical England supporter is a prick". I know loads of football fans that are just normal people from all walks of life..not a moron amongst them. My old mum will be livid you called her a prick
I run it with good settings and a nice framerate on a E7400, 4gig ram, an old 8800 GTS and a £30 motherboard. It cost way less than £300 to assemble.
FSX is a beast with some of the more complex big passenger jets, but it runs just fine with most GA aircraft, and I find I get better FPS with ORBX scenery than default.
With a well tuned machine and the right config tweaks FSX isn't a problem on any Dual Core machine (@3+Ghz) or better, as long as your not flying complex jets into major airports with masses of AI.
For GA lovers flying out of/into smaller strips and regional airports you really can get away with a very average machine and have a very nice experience indeed.
Aye, It's not a cheap hobby if you want good stuff for FSX. Still, it makes me feel iRacing is cheap now
.. the England section of the iRacing forums is a good place to get setups. It's also the sanest place in the iRacing forums, and a great place for venting your frustrations at the Italians and French
(sorry to our Italian and French friends... but if you didn't all drive like maniacs we'd have no need to talk about you :schwitz
Yup, coming back this season and having a decent choice of series to run has made thing more tricky there's just not enough time in the week (or money in the bank ) to race all the ones I want to.
I've decided to skip the V8's. I'm just not getting on with it.. It's a constant fight with the car.. i cant be arsed with that for a full season. I've always been more of a SS guy anyway, so I'll stick to the Skippy and Mazda this season, and move on to the Lotus,Indycar or Williams F1 next season.
I might go back to the V8 in a build or two when it's had the inevitable physics tweaks. I'll probably race it on England Club night's though.
Anyone here running the Mazdas this season? I bought it last night and am amazed how much better it is now compared to when I tried it a few seasons ago.
Just to clarify, each new weeks schedule starts at midnight on Tuesday (Monday night, Tuesday morning)
You can qualy when you like and as many times as you like (SR is counted in qual) then you have till the following week to race as many times as you like.
Just take the first races you do pretty easy, concentrate on just getting clean races, get your SR up and get out of those shitty Solstice's asap.
Just click on the red 'RACE' button, select ' iRacing Solstice challenge' (as that's all your eligible to drive if you haven't raced yet) from the drop down menu on the top left.
Then click select sessions. Any sessions you can run are highlighted in red.
Qualy and Races sessions remain greyed out until 30 mins before the sessions start (I think it's 30 mins anyway)
You can race any sessions in the cars you're eligible for, which as a rookie with less than a 4.0 safety rating is only the Solstice on road and and Legends on Oval. Soon as you have a 3.0 SR you can race the Spec Racer.
Easy solution... qualify in first and run away from everyone. That seems to be working for me
Gotta remember the Skippys are full of rookies. There's bound to some problems. I wish there was a 'C' and above only competition for the Skips... They are still one of the best cars in the sim, but racing with rookies is always going to be a gamble.
Aye, well there's three days left of the VIR round so that might be worth a purchase. The next track you'll need to buy for the Skippy series is Brands.
